Hubspot Naming Conventions

Consistent HubSpot naming conventions improve asset findability, boost productivity, reduce confusion, and enhance data analysis and reporting accuracy, ensuring efficient team operations.

When creating Hubspot Assets such as emails, landing pages, workflows for example, a consistent and well formed naming convention is key.  Using a consistent naming convention will:

  • make them easier to find, particularly as the volume of assets grows over time
  • increase productivity and efficiency of the team
  • reduce confusion and miscommunication
  • improve data reporting and analytics as it is easier to segment and analyse data based on specific campaigns, dates, or asset types

This is what the naming convention looks like, the elements are broken down in detail below:

Format: YYMM-AssetType-Category-CXStage-Passion-Description

  • Example: 2405-EN-CON-AWR-BIKE-Taupos-Unique-Biking-Trails

Looks scary but let's explain it for you.
